Parker and Dylan eagerly await the arrival of their new brother. If all goes according to plan, these two will have another brother sometime over the weekend. It’s a very exciting time for everyone, especially these two. Dylan even got a haircut for the special event.

We celebrated Parker’s second birthday with family. Pizza, cupcakes, and a nice swim! Hope everyone had a great time. It’s amazing to see the difference in him over the course of a year. Happy Birthday Parker, we love you very much!!

Katie celebrated her first communion this weekend. The service was very nice and she looked fantastic in her dress.

Even though I am biased of course, I think my sons are tough-guys. I’ve watched them climb on the playground, gone head-first down the tallest slide, and walked up to strange dogs that were more than twice their size to pet. However, on a recent trip to the Irvine Spectrum, Parker REFUSED to ride on the carosel.
The moment he realized we were walking over to stand in line for the ride, he burst into tears. Not wanting to force the issue we stepped out of line while Dylan stayed to ride. As Dylan was going around I snapped a few photos that can be seen by clicking on the picture above. When I got home and uploaded the images I took a look at the one used for this post and realized that the horse would scare the cr@p out of a small child. While most of us see the carosel as a whole (lots of different animals to sit on as it goes round-and-round), he must have seen this horse or another like it and lost all interest in the ride.
When I was growing up I cannot remember being afraid of things like this. The only thing that I was not fond of was clowns. And hey, who can blame me.

We took Parker for his first haircut today. Cool Cuts 4 Kids in Laguna Niguel is fantastic. If you have kids, I would highly recommend this place. They had video game consoles at half the chairs and DVD movies of your choice at the other half.
While Dylan played X-Box 360 at one empty chair, Lena and I were there to support Parker. He was seated in a fire truck chair for the big event. Although you may not guess by the picture, he did not cry the entire time. Just 99% of the time.
It’s the first of many haircuts to come so he’s just getting the hang of it. Click on the photo to see a couple more photos I took of him.

This year Santa brought the kids bikes. Well, he brought Dylan a bike and Parker a bike seat. We were not sure how Parker would take to it but he loves it. The Topeak Baby Seat is a great way for the little ones to get out and enjoy a nice ride. It has built in shocks, slightly reclines, and is padded for comfort. It locks to a rear platform that its attached at numerous places to the frame. The best feature is that it detaches quickly if Dad wants to go cruising without the little guy.
If you have little ones (up to 40 pounds) and enjoy riding, I would highly recommend checking this seat out.
Parker was fortunate enough to escape the smoke in Orange County this past week by spending Halloween with his Grandma and Grandpa. I have included a short movie of him in his costume. Please take a moment to see our favorite bee!
