Ironman Arizona here I come!!!

On November 20th, my husband signed me up for Ironman Arizona (www.ironmanarizona.com)!  This race sold out in 10 minutes, so I feel really lucky to get in.  I plan on blogging about my training here.

The race is to take place on November18th, 2012 in Tempe Arizona.

I am really excited, but I have a lot of training to do.

Of course, 2 weeks after David signed me up for this race, I fell and hurt my tailbone.  I wasn’t able to work out for a week, but I did start to bike and swim again this week.  I am still not able to run yet, but I am hopeful by next year I will be running again :) .

Please check back to get a status on my training asI begin to document my journey to complete Ironman Arizona as a full time working mom.

New Ride

New Ride, originally uploaded by tigerpaw511.

Lena has wanted one of the Bob Duallie joggers almost as long as she has wanted another baby. After looking on Craigslist for a great deal on a used one, we found an online store that sold us this brand new one for not much more.

We still have (and love) the Kelty, but the extras on this jogger really raise the bar. With a nice suspension system and the ability to recline the kids’ seats, the ride is much more comfortable for the little ones. Even though it is larger than the single Kelty, it is quite a bit lighter which was surprising. Quick release on all 3 wheels makes storage a snap. Although I doubt this thing will ever be stored as Lena is going to start training as soon as she is able after delivery. Extra storage pockets on the inside seats is a nice touch as the kids always bring a toy or two with them on long runs. These pockets also act as cup holders. Hopefully that will cut down on U-Turns as we go back for dropped sippys.

With hundreds of miles on the Kelty without an issue, I’m sure this model will deliver the same ruggedness as Lena (and I…) put many miles on the new jogger.
