So, after 9 months of waiting and watching my beautiful wife eat all the right foods, go on long walks and just plain prepare herself for birth….it’s time.
Lena’s Dr. is going on a sabbatical and wants to induce labor this Wed, May 10. Since today is her “due date” we are going to take his advice and go in on the 10th.
Having an appointment for birth is a completely new concept to me. The fact that we can almost pick and choose the day that Parker is going to be born blows me away. But here I am, typing away about this awesome event as if I’m covering a scheduled Laker game.
To say that we are scared would be missing the point. Lena and I are both a little nervous but also a LOT more excited. I can’t wait to see the little guy. However I am most excited about the moment when my wife gives birth to our son. Unlike the “old days” when Dads hung out in the waiting room waiting for the Dr. to come give the news of Boy or Girl…I will be in the middle of the action. This is something that nobody can experience but the three of us. To me, this means the world. To be there for my wife and son the minute he enters this world means more to me than I can simply type in this blog.
To all of you who have supported us (especially Lena) during the last 9 months… Thank you! You truly are appreciated.
Stay tuned for the pictures and video. You know this kid is going to be “overexposed” before he’s 1 month old.
