Friendship

So many people mistakenly call people they know or meet, “a friend of theirs”. I believe, your an acquaintance before your a friend. I have many acquaintances, but only a few can be called my friends. Friendship is a sort of relationship between people. It’s an understanding of each other. Of what is important and what isn’t to each other. It’s a commitment, of sorts, allowing each other to comfortably participate in life together.

  1. Yes, I think you nailed it! So many people mistake the terms. I think this is a problem that gets compounded by the social networks’ use of the term “friend” so loosely. Anyone can be your “friend” nowadays and some people can’t see the difference between a real friend and an acquaintance you met online because of a shared interest.
Friendship is truly a commitment that few people stick with, you can so easily shake it off. A friend that sticks around in tough times is worth a lot because it’s so easy to give up, but they don’t.
