We flew into Chicago for my grandmothers memorial service and a much needed family reunion. Even though we had limited time to spend with everyone, it was nice catching up. Click the image above to see more of the photos (and some where I am actually looking at the camera) that were taken. Hopefully we can plan another large get together for the not too distant future.
I know my mom is looking down from heaven and smiling from ear to ear. This day will be remembered by all of us for a very long time. I think that it would be great to do this again if not every 2 years than every 5. I encourage all of us to reach out to each other via email or whatever communication devices you have to keep our family ties close and tight.

Speaking for my family, we had a BLAST!! It was TOO short (maybe not for those of you who had travel hassles). I’m glad that I finally got to meet everyone and put a face to a name. You all have beautiful children. We really hope to do this again (a reunion…NOT a Memorial service) in the next 2-5 years. Aunt Jane mentioned Orlando being our next site. It was TOO long since we saw each other. Looking on the back of the photos my mom had of the CA Slazyk’s in front of the pine tree (by the way nice shorts David…just joking), it was dated 1985!! Uncle John, you are right. Grandma, Grandpa and Nancy were ALL smiling down on us this past weekend. They finally got their LONG awaited wish…that all of the grandkids would be together!! We are truly blessed to have such a great family. Please continue to keep in touch.
I agree. Next time we get together it will be strictly for a reunion.
